This past weekend we started our bathroom remodel which was to say interesting. A bit stressful and little uncomfortable due to the hard as rock beds at the cheap hotel that we got for a couple days. Due to the fact that my body is always changing it was interesting trying to get comfortable. Lets just say I got creative with the extra bedding. But we made it through. What’s important is the fact that we have a working shower and toilet Yeah!!!!! Hunger. That is what I am feeling now all the time. A cute growing belly and the need to eat is quite an urgency. mmmmmm chicken pot pie mom made over the weekend. Enjoying the need to eat whenever noodle says.

Mom to be Super Bowl…..
Today is the big game packers vs steelers honestly it doesn’t matter to me who wins. Today to me is a great day to spend with family and friends. The highlights will be of coarse the commercials and let’s not forget the food. Oh the food….mmmmmmm meatballs, little weenies, chips and dip, hot wings and of coarse pulled pork that Alan made yesterday. The fact that I am now in my second trimester I am hungry a lot. Today is going to be all about the food and of coarse football right. 🙂
Preparing for the Superbowl
One of the first things I need to show Noodle is the art of BBQ. Ok, the FIRST thing we will teach him or her will be to love Jesus.
Side note: are we saddling this kid with a bad nickname?
I’m cooking some pulled pork today for the Superbowl party at my parents house tomorrow. I’ll also be making a fresh batch of my BBQ sauce. I’ve had a craving for it lately and this is the perfect excuse to pull the smoker out of the garage.
As soon as I figure out how to do this for a living, I’ll be a happy man. Suddenly the Pastor’s sermon about work comes to mind. 🙂
To Noodle from Dad
Dear Noodle,
Got lots of snow recently. Shoveling snow is hard work, but can be satisfying when it’s over. 🙂 Even using a snow blower (borrowed from the neighbors, don’t forget to thank people for favors like that) is rough when you get the amount of snow we got in the last day or two. If we don’t have a snow blower of our own by the time you are old enough to read and understand all this, remind me of this post because you’ll be helping (at least) with this job. I will probably need to be reminded of the pain my shoulders are in, from clearing the driveway last night and the clearing of the end of the driveway this morning (with a shovel) after the city plows cleared our neighborhood during the night. I’m very thankful that they did it though, so your mom didn’t have to drive me to work (note: 4 wheel drive is a wonderful thing).
Looking forward to meeting you, so you can help with the driveway. I promise to wait until you’re old enough to hold a shovel.
Love Dad.
